Target Stick vs Scent Stick

A target stick is any stick-like object that a trainer assigns significance in training for the purposes of training body touches.

A scent stick is what we call a target stick that has a container for holding odor/scent for purposes of training a dog to target its nose on the training odor/scent and classically pairing the odor with the touch behavior (for precision) and for building the locate-report chain.

NOTE: We are training Lily as though for Seizure Alert, using the tea bag as a substitute for the seizure scent and documenting as though we were using seizure scent. We are following all the protocols for Monitor and Locate.
